Nonlinear PDE's

to commemorate the work of Jindřich Nečas (14. 12. 1929–5. 12. 2002),
an outstanding Czech mathematician who contributed to many fields of mathematical analysis.


Travelling

The conference will be held at two places in the centre of Prague, Czech Republic. Most of the program will take place in the Institute of Mathematics, AS CR. On Monday 14th afternoon there will be a special session at one of the buildings of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University.

How to get here:

From airport: Take the bus 100 from the stop in front of the airport arrival hall to the subway station Zličín (the bus ends there, the ride takes about 15 minutes), then the subway to Karlovo náměstí, exit at the front end of the train, then take one stop by a tram 4, 6, 10, 16, 22, 23 to Štěpánská and walk two blocks to the left from there. (Approx. 1 hour total travel time.) Alternatively, take the bus 119 from the stop in front of the airport arrival hall to the subway station Dejvická (the bus ends there, the ride takes about 20 minutes), then the subway to Můstek or Muzeum, then walk. (Approx. 1 hour total travel time.).

From train stations: All major train (and also bus) stations are on one of the subway lines. Most trains from abroad go either to Praha-Hlavní nádraží (the main station, often abbreviated Praha hl. n., adjacent to the subway station Hlavní nádraží) or to Praha-Holešovice (adjacent to the subway station Nádraží Holešovice). The main railway station (Hlavní nádraží) is within a walking distance from the Institute (about 15 minutes). From both Hlavní nádraží and Nádraží Holešovice you can take subway line C to I. P. Pavlova and then any tram one stop to Štěpánská, which is at the intersection of Ječná and Štěpánská street; walk two blocks from there.

From Institute of Mathematics, Žitná street: At the nearest crossroad go to the left, walk two blocks to the tram stop Štěpánská. Take tram 22 to Malostranské náměstí (approx. 12 minutes).
